Kraków wasn't heavily bombed during WW II. The bombing in September 1939 mainly took place around the military airport, the main railway station, the military radiostation. The city itself was not bombed and was quickly occupied by the Germans. The Germans did bomb heavily other cities - the most destruction took place in a town called "Wieluń" where basically the whole center was completely destroyed. Later during the war Warsaw was also horribly damaged by the Germans (due to the Warsaw uprising), but not Krakow.
