You sound like you’ve seen war as a contractor or an officer, maybe both…no civilian believes money exchanges like this are commonplace, so they stay content to prattle on about honor and sacrifice. The Pentagon’s trillion dollar accounting errors would be catastrophic if pegged to anything tangible, but fiat rules the day and a suitcase of Benjamins still buys a moment or two of solace

Even in Russia, usa companies used to legally be allowed for IRS tax purposes to write off cash bribe expenses when building new businesses and getting russian permits

too bad cash bribes cannot sway russian courts later on, to honor all the broken sales agreements made from russian suppliers

it only works for one-time extortions in kleptocracy Russia

ask ben and jerry ice cream or mcdonalds, how having businesses in Russia work out

Who gives a fck some tax avoiding multi-national corporation doesn't get to leech money from consumers ??. Good for Russia. I applaud them.
