getting so tired of society

For the past month it has just been bill after bill of property tax, medical bills, who the hell knows. Some of these bills i already paid but the county "lost" the record of the transaction and reissued a new bill. And what the fuck do you do, its either pay the bill or get a lien slapped on your house. Just this entire world pisses me off

I can’t help your situation, but maybe this will lift your spirits.

I placed reservations at all the major restaurants that require masks in LA this weekend at 8 on Saturday, six people. Then I called at 7:50 saying we can’t make it bc some of our people can’t find their vax cards. Rabbi Goldman is such an asshole and isn’t allowed to make reservations at a few places now. I claimed to have reported them for anti-semitism to the ADL.

My wife asked why I was using my terrible Boston accent and saying random Yiddish words while making a bunch of reservations.

Your bank (unless you paid cash) should have a copy of the transaction.

Never pay cash to the government - they will fuck you left and right.

Always use a method with a secondary form of receipt - even using a credit card with the 2% (((fee))) would be a receipt.

If you don't want to do that, pay in a memorial way - like with fucking pennies and watch them count it.

I received 3 tickets one time while being a passenger in a vehicle. Paid them. Moved to another state, went to get my DL license and said I couldn't because I have outstanding tickets in another state. The ticket #'s were sequential and I could only find the receipt for the first and third...

Well they still made me repay the one ticket because I had no proof. Fucking unreal.

In my lovely state, NICS will deny you the ability to purchase a firearm for an unpaid parking ticket. At the same time, the county can double, triple enforce the ticket, and its either pay up or lose all your rights, your house, etc. Most people pay up because a 50$ parking ticket is not worth losing your house over

Send a copy of the transaction record, check, debit receipt, anything to show you paid it. Take pictures (or dated copies) of the bill and what you send to CYA. Don't double pay, you're not a lender.

I think we've reached the point where the counties in the US realized there is close to jack fuck anyone can do to stop them screwing you over. Sure, it's not fair, but sprinkling some administrator errors here and there and people will most likely just pay up without a second thought. And the bigger issue is how much power the coutny has to destroy your life over non compliance. In Colorado for example, you get a lien put on your house, insta fail on NICS, additional fines and fees, etc.
