I purchase sheets of HDPE plastic for my work and it's the same shit, price is through the roof and everyone is blaming supply shortage due to poor logistics. Every time I contradict them with inflation, their eyes glaze over and face goes blank

I often buy lexan to fabricate safety guards, suppliers always carried markolon (Bayer). I haven't seen any on the market here for almost a year now. It's either European brands or no name brands from I'm guessing china.

It's not just inflation though, it's the work stoppage. It pushed a ton of aging folks into early retirement so a lot of businesses aren't getting their most experienced employees back at work. Production has slowed down everywhere.

I can't even get a 3/16x4x8 stainless sheet right now, back ordered for a month. Tried ordering 60' of W6×15 earlier, out of stock at 3 huge suppliers...

I just heard today from a supplier that high alloy steel prices have recently almost doubled (USA). I'm wondering if China is quietly jacking us so that when the hammer falls it's easier for them, or if they expect it to roil us so hard that we all start fighting each other. Anyway, brace yourselves, it's gonna be rough ahead, and soon. If you have anything you are looking to purchase, get it right now, and stock up on freeze dryed food too.
