The 'we hear he is armed' part is the worst because it forces a 'shoot first, ask questions later' mentality. In short, the guys invading may actually have allied with you had they had all information, but they never do.

Manipulated markets make it nearly impossible to achieve any kind of wealth. Taxes just tighten the screws and get used to pit us against one another. We're all cattle already.
I mean if they actually used them to blow to pieces suspected camel fuckers, they would have easily won. They just didn't exert that force. Too many rules of war now, back in the day you'd just kill and torture a bunch of your enemy and you would pacify a region for a long period of time. A huge chunk of the 'insurgent' fighting generation would have been wiped out, the ones surviving were the ones who complied
The problems are local, they're not national. They can put down a local uprising, but they can't put down all local areas uprising. Easiest thing to do is identify the toadies in your local community.
