I know @terannotterran on voat.co tried his hand at homesteading, with mixed results (his first property was way out in the desert before he relocated to PNW). I know there was a subverse at one time that did have an aspect of homesteading as part of the community--- the one ripping off the Starship Troopers slogan-- 'service guarantees citizenship' and asking for a $5 dollar fee. I believe the mod was ~7(insert random letters/numbers) also said they started a community homestead (or at least lied and said he did). Did anyone actually participate in that or know what 'today's results are'?
I've got about ~300K USD socked away (working professional) in the next year to make a purchase of some kind. With the world going to shit, I don't know what to do with my monopoly money. Do I start a business that will be locked out the financial system for 'wrong-think'? Do I buy a house/land already developed and fuck off to it? Do I buy land for a homestead? I'd like to do something dual purpose-- as in makes my future more secure/prosperous in the long run and also helps my /own people/ too. Thoughts/opinions? I guess I could buy 300-500 acres in interior Alaska and build 'Fort Fuck You' there.
If you're going to start anywhere, I would recommend The Yukon, it has an extremely low population density, and is 65% European. Alaska could also work, but it will be more difficult to hide your activities.
As Bosunmoon said, don't tell anyone exactly what you're doing publicly on the internet. Always keep it abstract. I'm not sure how you would go about recruiting however. I would love to help, but I'm pretty sure any attempts to recruit online will result in feds joining your organization, and they will be hard to weed out. So, offline recruiting friends and family you trust is the safest.

Your best defense is remaining invisible, build mainly underground with only a minor surface presence. Both Alaska and The Yukon have the Cascades running through them.

I have two spots now recently purchased in northern AZ. Might be going there if need be. Currently I live in a small rural place that suits me just fine.

Need more info. Wife? Family? Need to be near an airport? I did the same thing you are talking about. I lived in urban areas for a long time and then noped out to a pretty rural area. Having a few acres is plenty, I only have 2 and I don't need more. Initially I was looking for 20-40 If you aren't making an industrial farm, there is no need for more than a few acres. 1 acre per cow. Goats sheep and pigs need much less space. I raise chickens and would recommend about 6-9. That would give you plenty of eggs for yourself and maybe a dozen a week you could give away or sell if you don't mind the liability. What you learn is that everything becomes cheap except tools. Grow food, pay off the house (or build a cabin) raise chickens, turkeys or livestock... or even just hunt. 300k is generous. A cabin can be as low as 30k but lake frontage can add a lot of cost. Check out landwatch.com for land or smaller houses on big property. Like I said, you might do fine on 8 or 10 acres with a cow and a pig. You can know your neighbors and not be bothered by them. I really don't care for social situations but I am glad I know my neighbors if something bad goes down. It is good to be a part of a community.
There's no niggers on the water, as long as you stay away from Somalia. Barely any Jews, either. The former can't swim and fears water, and the latter can't stand the work it takes to stay afloat and keep things running.
With the right setup, you can be extremely independent. Plenty of ways to make money, while that's still a thing, if you have the skills and mind for it. Many good people live and raise families like this. Last place left to run to, since the problem people cannot follow.
Bear in mind travel restrictions imposed by the Covid agenda still apply. More of a nuisance than a problem though. If shit really hits the fan, none of that will matter anyway.
