Should we be ignoring anon posts?

submitted by 1Icemonkey to AskUpgoat 3.7 yearsAug 16, 2021 15:50:43 ago (+8/-0)     (AskUpgoat)

I roam the “all” page, so I see everything in real-time from all sources. What’s the consensus here, do we acknowledge anon posts? I kinda think I shouldn’t, but I have, but I question it’s usefulness.

Don't take anon posts so seriously. I don't understand why it's so complicated, just take them with a massive grain of salt.

Does it matter no matter what you do?

anon was an attack vector by paid leftists TWICE to junk up the front page of this site, but the paid leftists now are more clever and put fresh and relevant topics in anon.

ONe guy 'b4a' admitted putting good content in anon in past just to have good sontent get on here and not get instantly downvoted by people like mikenigger, but i dont know if thats current.

I now read all anon, but personally do not upvote much.

The site should have an anon but it should be limited to one post per 12 hours per account, to serve a need for anon bombshell leaks to press.

the topmost anon topic this hour is this one about austin tx with 8 upvotes in 3 hours :

Austin, TX is the Coal Burner Capital of the USA
https://www.voat.xyz/viewpost.php?postid=611a9064a495b

it has legs and will get more upvotes, and in a normal world deserves upvotes, but I will not upvote it , even if I participate in that

Same here. I've upvoated a few before I realized they were anon and, in general, don't upvoat or comment in order to stop them from cluttering up /v/all.

The site should have an anon but it should be limited to one post per 12 hours per account, to serve a need for anon bombshell leaks to press.

This is a good idea and perhaps removing them from the default /v/all view would help reduce the incentive to use anon to bump otherwise worthy topics off of the front page.
