That's the nature of mythology and offshoots. But the standard Christian position accepts it's the same god. That's why they include the Old Testament (the Jewish Torah) in the Bible. They just consider the New Testament to be a "New Covenant" that applies to all people.

It's a common misconception that modern Talmudic Judaism was the predecessor to Christianity - it wasn't.

I'm not talking about Talmudic Judaism when I say that Christians worship the Jewish god Yahweh.

Some Christians do. Many don't. In the second century, a "heretic" named Marcion made a compelling and effective case that the god of the Old Testament YHWH was different from the God that sent his son Jesus. This is a God of love, not the violent, clannish, and retributive god of the jews.
