Just maintain glide speed and that doesn't happen. Period. Got to know your equipment.

Only thing I can think of would be if the idiot attmepted a vertical stall at 500 ft, and couldn't trade altitude for speed to get to glide speed

Best friend in college went to one of the last 4 year aviation schools, and we used to go up all the time. I have about 60 hours logged myself, but no license yet.
