Valid reasons for participating in a medical trial:
1. You are seriously ill and facing death. An experimental therapy is offered as part of a trial and you have little to lose by participating.
2. You are in desperate need of money and you don’t want to sell your ass to strangers under a bridge.

She basically said that when she opened with the irrelevant fact that she has a college degree in electrical engineering. She actually thought having a degree made her capable of making wise decisions.

Exactly this. My country was in the last stages of a Catholic theocracy in my youth, this whole thing has just shown me nothing has changed. The curtain twitchers have their new moral bandstand to stand upon, the priests have changed from Fr to Dr as a title, but otherwise it’s much of a muchness.

Religion in general breeds morons who don't question all parts of it. That being said, religion is the most necessary aspect of existence. It's adherence to doctrines without question that makes power corrupt itself.

Exactly. To be truely pro-science would be to respect the dangers of absolute unknowns, and a respect for how little we know.

It does not mean blind faith in the medical industrial complex. That would be a level naivety that would amount to anti-science in terms of real science.

Pro-vaccine doesn't sound like a rational conclusion, but an emotional starting point.

Also she did engineering. Doesn't she know about safety margins, the dangers of complex systems not well-understood, and assuming any medication is harmful until it's been rigorously shown to be safe? And that there's science, and then corruptible people who relay the results and can mislead you with it?

I too have an electrical engineering degree and I'm not a tard like her. Engineering is a field of applied science, so if you don't understand how proper science is carried out you have no right to call yourself an engineer no matter what level of degree you hold. She is a fucking disgrace not just as an engineer, but as a human being for putting her own children through this.
