I thought the top row was maple, quaking aspen or birch, and pine.

Everyone saying Pine does not understand coniferous trees. Pines have long, mostly radial needles. Short radial or non radial needles indicate a member of the Fir, Douglas Fir, or Spruce variety. I would add Tamarack (Larch), but their cones are not that large.
