I applied for my Medical Marijuana card

submitted by PuttitoutIsGone to whatever 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2021 08:23:43 ago (+13/-0)     (whatever)

Not sure it's worth it.

First off you have to pay, out of pocket, $200 for a visit to a sanctioned doctor. Insurance does not cover this. Is joke. Just tell him your toe hurts and you qualify. The doc signs off on you and now you can get a card...another $50. It needs renewed yearly
OK...so now you have your card and can access dispensaries. Welcome to the world of $70 1/8s of what is basically street quality weed. But it's cool now...right? You can smoke your medicine...while hiding out in your basement just like you always have because it's still illegal to consume your medicine.
What a joke.

For the $400 or so I spent getting legal I could have just bought a nice QP and been set till winter.

Red Flag Laws. Because of what determinations are made about your mental stability surrounding the issuance of Medical Marijuana Card TPTB can have you red flagged. It’s just a pathway to you loosing the rights they want you to loose.

Not even that. Many places just make it required to put you on the "not allowed guns" list for life.

Where?

CA most likely, and ummm, other commie states I don't really bother with because fuck them. I just see the laws get passed some time ago and know they exist.

In CA you don't need a medical marijuana card. For anything.

It’s just a pathway to you losing the rights they want you to lose.

Spot on comment other than that mix-up. Just one 'o' in loss.

certain states even make it a prerequisite to forego your 2nd amendment to own a green card... fuck that and fuck them. youre doing it wrong son.

The only bonus to having one if if I am caught transporting less than 4oz's they can't touch it. Personal use.But I'm sure they would just make up some other charge.

edit: My 2nd amendment is intact. That would be a huge deal breaker.

My 2nd amendment is intact.

Yes, but you don't qualify for a CCW anymore.

An OZ of decent stuff costs me like $100. Perhaps start growing? Doctors are fags, find a place that doesnt card.

[ - ] Mr7Slug 4 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2021 10:11:46 ago (+4/-0)

And now the super bonus, you are federally prohibited from owning guns now! Because marijuana is still a federal crime! And they've made laws specifically to make it extra illegal to be a marijuana user and own guns, and now you've put yourself in the database that says "I break federal laws!". Hope you live somewhere with constitutional carry so you dont have to put yourself on the second database that says "i carry guns!", or the two databases might just get together and make a fuckyou baby.

In most if not all places you can't have firearms if you have marijuana. If that's not applicable to you, then enjoy your marijuana card.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2021 14:25:56 ago (+0/-0)

Arizona does not require a permit to own or carry a firearm (incl concealed), and I don't see any proviso about marijuana in there. You must be "mentally stable."

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2021 14:47:57 ago (+0/-0)

Mentally stable? Only the far left are mentally stable, and they don't want guns available to the public. So by deductive reasoning and mental gymnastics, let's ban guns and offer up the peace pipe to everybody. Because tolerance is the biggest virtue of all.

When you do a background check to buy a firearm you have to certify you are not addicted to any illegal drug. (Incidentally being addicted to alcohol is totally fine...) Obviously taking medical marijuana doesn't make you a drug addict, however I can see the government arguing that it did if it came up somehow. That's the only way I can think of in which you'd be screwed by having a medical card. I think that's among the reasons that states including Arizona keep their registry private from the Feds. But I guess I'm just saying that if for some reason a Federal agent catches you with marijuana and a firearm, they are probably going to charge you with something ridiculous. But that's true whether you have a state medical marijuana card or not.

The local police used to pop a lot of people for DUI in AZ. There was no legal threshold, and the presumption if they found any on you while driving was that you were DUI. IDK how it actually worked out in court; they charge a lot of people with DUI in general that they can't convict.

It’s worth it. Although perhaps the quality around me is simply better than what other areas are churning out. Either way it is much, much, better.

Some insurance policies will reimburse a significant portion of the Dr. visit, but you will have to submit the claim yourself.

If you own firearms you won't be for long.

[ - ] PuttitoutIsGone [op] 0 points 2.7 yearsAug 8, 2021 16:27:12 ago (+0/-0)

This is fucking true. Despite the fact there are many laws protecting your medical records from the govt especially when it come to persecution.

Find another dispensary. Or move to California. Dispensary bud should be top shelf.

[ - ] KCobain27 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2021 12:42:38 ago (+0/-0)

Now your name is on a list somewhere. I think you should leave Voat and hang out on faceberg.

Pot is for low T faggots.

You're putting the cart before the horse.

Marijuana is proven to lower testosterone.

Lose the ability to own firearms, and lower your testosterone. And in exchange you get an intoxicant.

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 2 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2021 14:51:37 ago (+2/-0)

I'm surprised nobody brought this up sooner. Pot does lower testosterone. I've heard talk that there was a myth "in the hood" that if you smoke enough you'll become "infertile." I suppose that's kind of on the right track, but certainly not true. That misinformation likely led to a lot of nogger stoners having niglets.

Marijuana doesn't lower someone's testosterone to zero. It makes it lower than what it could be; what it should be.
