Holy shit, my father actually took part in this experiment. He was a navy airman, and talked about it several times. Interesting to see it pop up here. He's long since kicked the bucket, so I can't ask him more about it. It's just kind of wild to see it get brought up.

Serratia marcescens is literally EVERYWHERE. If you don't keep your soap and shampoo bottles clean and dry and let your bathroom get too humid you'll get an orange or pink growth that looks like mold. It's usually Serratia. It feeds on the fat in soap and humidity.

It's not good for people who have a shitty immune system, or other problems; but neither is anything else.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Someone tell the Chinese government to institute a hygiene program based on Western manners; especially around nose picking.
