I’ve always thought I’d add pork fat to my beef if I was to grind my own. Hmm, I might have to grind my own, just so I can do this. Besides all that, my greatest regret ever, is having not taken up my uncles offer to move from CA to Alaska when I was 18. He had a job lined up for me working on the Exxon oil spill. My whole entire life would have been very different. Don’t get me wrong, my life is pretty darn good, not many complaints. It just would have been different. A sorely missed opportunity. I declined to go over a “woman” (we were 18)
Canned meat can usually last 2-5 years since the acidity is low. Canned fruit and tomatoes doesn't last nearly as long because of the high acid content (in case you were wondering).
