"Loulou & Coco have a varied raw diet of a carnivore. 90% meat 10% vegetables.

Carnivores (dogs) have short intestines and highly concentrated stomach acid to quickly digest meat/bones. Due to the highly concentrated stomach acid and fast digestion, the meat is quickly out of their bodies, so that they (hardly) not get sick from raw meat.

As much variety as possible with different types of meat, but also in muscle meat, bone, organs, skin, hair, feathers, fish and egg. They usually get vegetables as a snack, but not too much. Vegetables can sometimes be an aid to digestion, but most of the time this comes out whole and they don't need it.

For Loulou & Coco, this diet is good. They are healthy, active, have clear eyes, shiny fur and perfect blood tests.

Omega 3 fatty acids are an essential part of a dog's (and human's) diet. The body cannot make it on its own. Omega 6 is in many foods, but omega 3 is not. Omega 3 is good for skin, coat, eyes, brain, joints, teeth, intestines etc.
We use the cold-pressed concentrated omega 3 oil from Eqology. We use those too. Loulou and Coco need 1 drop of it.

A raw diet is only good when given in the right proportions. The correct proportions of muscle meat, bone, fish, egg, etc.

A raw diet with the wrong proportions will give the dog deficiencies with all the consequences.

Normally I am a supporter of quail eggs. They contain more nutrients than chicken eggs but unfortunately I couldn't get them anywhere at the moment.

This video is not to convince anyone to give a raw diet. Not at all. I'm showing a week diary because there are so many questions about this.

Dogs are domesticated and due to extensive breeding, it is possible that a dog cannot tolerate a raw diet. For many dogs it is great but it can also be the opposite. I have worked with animals for years, studied and fully immersed myself in the nutrition of dogs (and other animals). It's so interesting."
