Because women are more influenced by social pressures. Humans are social creatures, of the two men are more likely to say "Yeah, No. Fuck you guys Im out" and go live in a cabin on a mountain all by himself. Women don't do that. They need society absolutely, inside they know it, and in the end they will cave unless they join that man in his cabin.

Women will either be led by a strong man or external factors (family, media, government). How she behaves proves who's leading her. In your cases it's obviously Dr. Fauci who she looks up to as an authority (rather than her man).
