Just another money grab. That much money moving around allows for big payoffs and diversions of capital. It is just that simple.

Japan closes Olympics. Declares itself winner of all competitions because everyone else defaulted.

Have the O been an economic boom for any host for at least a decade? Brazil or wherever the last S Amer O was is now stadiums abandoned in the jungle.

Same with Greece, the stadium is in ruins. I think the idea is that the influx of spectators staying in hotels and eating out is a boost to the economy, but I can't imagine that would cover much more of the cost of the stadiums themselves. The Olympics is most likely a money laundering racket at this stage.

The only way I could see it working is if they got to host the games for, say, 16 years (four olympics) and all the minor international events inbetween.

I think this is an overall cultural win for the country. Sure, you may lose some kike-manipulated fiat, but you've eliminated a vector of infection for globalism and degeneracy, thus preserving your own people (for the time being).

The olympics are always a massive bust. The locals usually hate it, not enough people turn up or buy tickets and there's never enough business for the facilities built for the event after it's over.
