How do you take your coffee, Mr Pim?

[ - ] TheViciousMrPim [op] 1 point 2.8 yearsJul 18, 2021 11:03:22 ago (+1/-0)

I use a french press. As far as black vs cream and sugar or whatever, for me it depends on the coffee. Oddly, if it's a dark roasted coffee of quality I'll probably drink it black. Where if it's a lighter mass produced coffee(Folgers and such) I'm more likely to add C&S or sometimes just one or neither. A good coffee gets nothing and regular joe sometimes needs some help.

Stellar answer. I need to use my French press more often, but I'm lazy. About once a year my wife's family will come visit from Colombia and bring us 10-15 pounds of the best coffee I've ever tasted. It never lasts very long. I take my coffee black. It's a relic of the days I was too broke for cream and sugar.

That Columbian must be a nice gift.

I've used pretty much every kind of machine. I've used big professional espresso machines in restaurants and at one point someone gave me a weird microwave contraption which mostly puked it's guts all over the insides of the microwave. The ex-wife kept buying overly complicated things that I hated so I went back to the press. I like the simplicity of the press and the coffee is first rate imho.

A cup of black coffee from quality beans is the best.

I've seen other methods that folks swear by and, for me, the press is king. Elegant in its simplicity, with quality beans roasted skillfully and pure water with good mineral content, I've never had better.

I too use a french press but out of laziness. My coffee tastes pretty bad. On an episode of Grand Designs, the owners of a house being interviewed by Kevin Mcloud for the program started to pour him a cup of coffee from a french press and Kevin said:"ugg cardboard coffee". My understanding is that french-press coffee is bottom-rung.Sorry.

You are getting opinions on coffee from an architecture and design faggot?

Your understanding of coffee is as poor as the beans you are buying. The beans, their roast and the grind play a greater role in the final taste of the coffee than the machine. Due to its process the press extracts a huge amount of that flavor and caffeine. Resulting in a very robust cup. An espresso machine extracts a lot of flavor but less caffeine. Yes, espresso has less caffeine than a standard cup of auto drip. Which extracts less flavor. Much of this is controlled by the various grounds(from coarse to powder fine) and the speed and pressure used to pass water through those grounds.

Don't get info from rich art fags. They are the least knowledgeable people anywhere on anything(other than art faggotry)

Both you and your sources of both beans and info are bottom-rung. Sorry, not sorry. Educate yourself or go play w that Keurig like a mongoloid.

"Keurig (/ˈkjʊərɪɡ/) is a beverage brewing system for home and commercial use. The machines are manufactured by the American company Keurig Dr Pepper. The main Keurig products are: K-Cup pods, which are single-serve coffee containers; other beverage pods; and the proprietary machines that brew the beverages in these pods." [Voat Library Service]

Do they not sell those down there? I thought those things were everywhere.

But good beans and a grinder. Follow the french press instructions. You will have a cup of coffee w more flavor and caffeine than any of the other methods. The machine has almost zero moving parts to break and no electronics to fuss about w. Cleaning is dead simple. The press is imho the best, easiest and it's like $20 US. Of course if you're a pretentious art fag you want an espresso based drink cause it's filled w fru fru right down to the machine itself being overly complicated and a pita to clean properly.

Sorry man, I've been drinking high end coffee as long as I've been drinking high end beer and booze. And that's not a short period.

I think my problem could be the coffee. At present I buy supermarket coffee and the only brand with any oomph is...starbucks.I need to go upmarket.
