Selections from a 1950 pattern book. The motifs are very pretty and geometric and could be used on any project; linens and clothes, etc.

You can follow the charts for your color work knitting as well.

Decades ago, on a computer screen I used to spend hours hand creating similar artwork, same color pallets too, and got good at it for that same esthetic.

Then I met a guy with a large computerized embroidery machine for small commercial runs, and showed me the big money was large multicolor high quality patches with lots of vibrant colors and legible logos. The opposite of my passion, but he said my ideas would never be desired compared to normal non-pattern patches sold to various groups.

That embroidery guy was right as far as cashing in goes but to me the hand-crafted aesthetic (and work) is far superior and valued.
