Power Saw not made in China?

submitted by letsgetit to whatever 2.8 yearsJul 16, 2021 04:34:10 ago (+6/-0)     (whatever)

Might not be the correct post for this sub. However here you go:

I looked for hours earlier on every major brand and could not find a new power saw made in the USA. In fact every one of them are now sourced and made in China. There were a few off brands made in Romania and Taiwan but those have changed over. I think I may have to buy used from a pawn shop to get usa made

I have an old craftsman from the late 70s, all aluminum. Makita usa is still a thing.

Corded Makita Power Saws on Home Depot and Lowes show made in China. I think they made the change a couple years ago. Some of their other equipment is made in Japan. Also someone suggested you can get a new one shipped from Japan that's made there but it will cost extra. It's a mess

Are there any jap made? I bought a Shindaiwa gas powered trimmer at the pawn last summer and it kicks ass. But the only saws they make are chainsaws. Id rather buy US but I'll accept Japanese.

I've got a Milwaukee circular saw that was made in the early 80's. It's heavy as fuck compared to my new on, but she chooches.
