Agree - I’ve always been fascinated by these birds mastery of staying aloft with minimal wing flapping. Nice pic.

Black vultures have a dark grey/blackish head, but still unfeathered like the turkey vulture. If the head is feathered, it is likely an eagle.

Black vultures are also a bit larger than turkey vultures, but not up to condor size or anything.

not a turkey vulture. I think perhaps a golden eagle. turkey vultures end flight feathers are kind of like little fingers.
