Every human culture has believed in the existence of other beings, monstrous humanoids, sapient but inhuman. They have gone by different names: boogeymen, bugbear, cyclopes, giant, jotun, ogre, oni, troll, yeti, and more. But they are always feared, lurkers in the shadows, threats to the clan, tribe, or hearth. Dungeons & Dragons didn’t create these monsters, and (despite ongoing controversies) they don’t represent anything modern. Humanity’s legendary heroes have been fighting these monsters since time immemorial.

Yeah, well we still have niggers so not every other sapient primate. Or maybe they don't consider niggers to be sapient...

1) Neanderthals were apex predators
2) Neanderthals ate humans, and even their own - cannibals
3) Neanderthals had 25% thicker bones and muscular structures - superhuman strength
4) Neanderthals walked hunchbacked and had an odd gait
5) Neanderthals has teeth 2x human teeth, larger mouths, and incredibly powerful jaws
6) Neanderthals had fur. They did not make clothes.
7) Neanderthals had very large eyes, suggesting nocturnal.
8) Neanderthals had vertically slit pupils, and possibly tapetum lucidum (cat "reflecting" eyes)
9) Neanderthals had large nasal cavities and protuberances, which suggests a "snout-like" sniffing/ sense of smell, similar to a pig or dog.
10) Large nasal cavitiy, short neck, large mouth and tongue, would seem to have little capability of reaching the complexity of "human" speech. Guttural sounds.
From his description, think a gorilla-sized creature with similar oversized legs made for walking/loping, nocturnal skills, but human thinking capabilities.

The stuff of nightmares. If such a thing still existed, I would never leave home without my concealed 450 bushmaster 6-shooter, and would never be more than 30 feet from the bug-in 50 BMG I'd keep in my car. Holy fuck.
The wife would be complaining that the 'pour-elle' 30-06's purse holster doesn't fit her bag, but she'd learn to deal with it.

As soon as any real science comes into play in this discussion, I'll entertain it. But for now, all of this is about as scientific as The Book of Mormon.
