I turn off auto-updates as well. When you have been using computers as long as I have you know what is safe and what isn't. If something happens, format c: /q /u

I should be calling all of you out more. But it’s tiresome. You know that though, and it distracts from the main points such as keeping your software updated and using antiviruses to keep agencies out. They love using zero-days but hate when software updates completely brick them.
