Watched an interview with one of the epidemiological Nobel laureates and he stated there is about 20% difference between the original SARS from 2003 and covid19 however the body if infected and recovered from one is immune to the other. All these ‘variants’ seem just a continuation of the submission scare tactics . Also remember the DM sells advertising by using controversial headlines to attract page views.

So judging by the media's track record we can expect the opposite to happen. Red states and unvaccinated will be fine but blue states and vaccinated will be decimated by the delta variant.
