Fun fact: Poal staff fucked over voaters for their own gain during the shutdown, when they welcomed users the reddit-style moderation was already the status quo and they were not planning to change anything about it. It was an underhanded way to get more users. There is absolutely no reason to believe anything they have to say.

Based on the threads here, poal's chat and all the poal smokers it's clear there is a core group that doesn't care about the rest of the userbase, much less about the spirit of voat. The low IQ worker bees keep up the illusion of the place being fair when AOU is called out, it's like a cult.

Their modus operandi is to ban or tag users untrustworthy as they seem fit, either by removing all their points or by adding a (suspicious behavior) icon to their and profile every post they make with the implication that a rule was broken, often without evidence or even a reason, hiding behind an excuse of security by obscurity even in trivial cases.
