I tried many different combinations of ISO, brightness, shutter speed, through torch cutting glasses and through welding glasses. I got some neat pictures, but this one is the only one whwere you can see the partial sun, all others is just a bright spot in the center.

You didn't need to waste all those images, "image stacking" is a common technique used in astrophotographical post-processing to improve signal-to-noise ratio!
