Anyone use reverse osmosis?

$205

Yearly filter costs: $84

What makes me want to get it more is that the WHO and FDA are saying it isn't healthy

Can here to say this. Water is more likely to bind with anything it touches if you use RO, since the water has practically nothing to it afterwards.

You can get one for half that on eBay, and the filters are cheaper too. I change filters every two years.
I one hooked to the refrigerator for ice and water, and one at the lake place has a spigot on the kitchen sink.
Very pleased.

I get water from a coin-op Reverse Osmosis machine, so, same concept. I will say that it is of such purity that it actually contributes to my dehydration, which I have a serious issue with because one kidney is very low-functioning (aliens, heavy metal) and I require continuous caffeination to fight off perpetual brain-induced fatigue (aliens, telepathy). As a workaround, I have to supplement with electrolytes or Campbell's V8 for the salt.

Why is your kidney low functioning? And could you elaborate on the telepathy?

Simply putting (aliens, heavy metal, telepathy) and then not addressing it is a crime sir, please don’t do this to me

Yeah I got a 6-stage RO for like $130 and only drink water from home. It has a reminarlizing filter at the very end.

Minerals in water are negligible.

Take some supplements if you want but RO water is much better than fluoride and chlorine and birth control and antidepressants etc.

I can't get a RO system for reasons but I drink the above linked brand which is. RO would be much cheaper. I would put one in the shower too if I could, tap water is not good for skin.

Do it, and run an auxiliary line to your ice maker.

It’s no better then distilled. You can’t live off of it. Berkey’s are actually better then most people think, even without their fluoride filters.
They won’t filter Chloromine though, which some cities use.

Reverse osmosis filtration is great, but you need to add mineral salts for flavor and also so that your own salt levels don't get depleted. Generally your diet has plenty of salts so it's not a big deal. Just get a water softener to add something back in even if it's just calcium and sodium.

I like the one with the dumb sounding 'alkaline' pH filter thing, it really makes the water taste way better. It sounds like a retarded gimmick, but it [at least can be] really worth it.

i have one the water tastes really clean and pure.

[ - ] StealthNinjaTaliban 0 points 3.4 yearsJun 4, 2021 21:27:55 ago (+0/-0)

it's filtering out the arsenic

Yes I use one. I have an on-the-counter type system where you fill up one tank and it filters into another. I rent so it’s more convenient if the landlord doesn’t want you plumbing anything.

Do you have a link for the WHO and FDA?

We've drunk RO water for years and recently installed a underthesink model. Much better taste than home delivered, sorry I didn't do it years ago.

Just a comment that there are makes out there that don't use a holding tank, which simplifies the installation and takes less space. They're more $$ tho.

[ - ] bosunmoon -1 points 3.4 yearsJun 4, 2021 22:04:33 ago (+0/-1)

I know full well what it is, and also what reverse osmosis is. Either one is a retarded option.
