McKeown was the frontman for the Bay City Rollers during their heyday in the mid-1970s, during which they recorded such mega-hits as Shang-A-Lang, Bye Bye Baby and Give a Little Love.
The Edinburgh teenagers exploded into the US market with their 1974 hit Saturday Night, snagging the top spot on the American Billboard chart. Their overseas success even earned them comparisons with The Beatles a decade before.
McKeown left the Rollers in 1978, although in recent years, he took part in a nostalgia tour with ex-bandmates. His distinct vocals in Bye Bye Baby and other hits are still recognised by youngsters to this day. News.au.

All my sisters friends are always almost identical age and looks. Women must be very age-aware or ageist.

My god! If Tiger Beat needed to juice sales to their 13 and 14 year old readers... they just tossed Bay City Rollers into an issue.
Usually to be a sex idol (teen idol) in Tiger Beat magazine the guy had to be under age 24. Les McKeown (born 1955) was age 18 to 22 in his prime sex idol days in Tiger Beat, so not too creepy. The creepy part of being a sex idol in Tiger Beat is that every curvy big chested girl at every single concert that makes their way BACK STAGE using either "all access" pass, or "i was supposed to be on the list" trick... were ALL AGE 14!
Imagine being a rock god and 95% of the girls chasing you are often age 14 to 15! Criminal in many nations!
Thanks, Tiger Beat!
