LOL. Case Closed is the American name given to the anime. The real name of the show is "Detective Conan." It's been an anime staple for years. Unbelievably, it's still running, with more than 15 or 16 seasons right now, I think. If any show deserves to be made fun of, it's this one.
Correct indeed, it's still running in Japan as Detective Conan. Somehow it got 5 whole season in English. From 1996 - present day... twenty-five years. Do series' like this often run that long?
Slim to none, as a matter of fact. There's only a small number of shows that have been running this long, and this show's stalwart fan base has done a good job of keeping the show alive. There's a lot of great ideas introduced in the show, including the main character's major influence from Sir Arthur "Conan" Doyle, where he made up the name for his "new" persona on the spot when questioned about who he was. I managed to get about 3/5 of the way through the ENTIRE show before I had some fatigue set in. Also, for some weird reason, it seems that there's a murder around nearly every corner that the main character goes, and everyone who gets murdered has most of the time committed some horrible crime or murdered someone else themselves. LOL.
