This is how the Cambodian Genocide started except the fictional fallout was rather a fictional American invasion. Don't go voluntarily to your killing fields.
Anybody still in a city at this point gets what they get. A cesspool of degeneracy can only end in one way, and I figured people on this site would've taken heed a long time ago. The government has proven they will do whatever it takes to gain control...a dirty bomb is not out of their scope.
I have strong revolutionary tendencies - which are much firmer and certainly more studied and coherent or better thought out than most in these spaces... but also a rational sense of self-preservation. And I have a real aversion to right-wing conspiracy cranks that think the government is out to get them just because or for no reason in particular. These people are often so confused that they can't see straight - which is problematic in part because they are distracted from real problems or the essence of things as they obsess over their bogeymen. The average poster on Voat was little better than Alex Jones. And the end result is either political paralysis due to paranoia or Q tier misdirection.
I can abide healthy mistrust of government. But that mistrust is based less on the institution of government itself than on the people or interest groups that dominate it. The US government is much worse with Democrats in charge. So the US government is less the issue than Democrats. But there is less planning than ad hoc reactions to pressure directed at them. And in any case I reject ideas like them plotting to set us up with a dirty bomb scare so they can haul us off to our deaths in killing fields or camps. If people do think government is acting deviously they need a rational reason for believing why.
In the case of UFOs the government could have ulterior motives for promoting it. But I think there is a rational reason to believe why they would.
I can also accept that politicians, like any people, could get drunk on their own power. But that also seems rational to me. Is that really an indictment of government - or maybe people with power and how power can corrupt? I dunno. Maybe that is an unimportant distinction - but I think it does point to how seeing government inherently as the enemy is a bridge too far.
