Development of ideas and consciousness comes through the internet of course. Often specifically message boards. If one gets fucked up maybe that's ok. But the disease tends to spread. And this thinking that it is unserious that you're offering is a big reason why it is increasingly hard to have a conversation on them without the feeling it has devolved into something akin to teenage boys scribbling insults on bathroom stalls.

I know of one forum project in the works that takes these issues of trolls and centralized power mods seriously enough that they're trying to address it by the way. Dunno if it'll work. Too soon to tell - but they think they're even going to make money off of it.

With a person in that position there is the assumption of a degree of professionalism. If he doesn't carry himself well he is unlikely to even have a site very long. And honestly, it is necessary. There has to be a penalty. If an admin treats his high volume contributors like that he needs to pay by losing them. Justice served. And hopefully a deterrent to bad conduct from others in his position. He didn't just lose me either. And over a longer period he'll lose more of my friends too as we set up shop somewhere else.

I've seen him deny being Jewish. His location and real surname are known and if anything the best evidence given what I know of that is he's of at least part French Canadian ancestry.
