In the early 90s I sailed a yacht into Townsville (Australia) marina late one night. I was somewhat confused when I woke up in the morning, the park adjacent to the marina was flying dozens of US flags, and there was a monument/memorial to all the ships that fought the Battle of The Coral Sea in WW2.

I don't believe Australia is majority white anymore, regardless of what official demographics say.
