If you are unaware, Harris county hires constables based on local neighborhoods and HOA's outside the Houston city limits paying the sheriff's office for service. Our neighborhood paid for 1.5 constables, so roughly 60 hours / week patrol inside that neighborhood. Out of the annual $650 HOA fee, you paid for garbage collection 2x/week, fire, and constable patrol, not to mention street cleaning, mosquito spraying, and "common area" maintenance (boulevards, etc.) Not bad for $55/month
