It has a very strong chance of it being overturned. Firstly because the change of venue was not permitted and secondly because the jury was not sequestered right at the start (and was verly likely influenced by the outside) like the defense attorney requested.
People often try to get out of jury duty. It's trivial to present yourself as a partisan if you don't want to be on the jury. Or they don't even bother to show up when called. What this guy is saying is that you should do your best to get on the jury when given a chance.
