X’rs were bad with credit and debt, but they were the last generation decidedly anti gov/Corp. The average millennial has never had a human experience that wasn’t provided to them by the government and a humiliatingly small number of them are based, or can accept they’re not even close to the smartest generation. There may be some based Z’s, but there’s hardly one that’s had a life experience that wasn’t through a device.

Milennials drank the koolaid on monthly debt obligations. People are fine with making payments on a half dozen entertainment options, a $500/month car payment, student loan debt, health insurance, and $15 breakfasts. Don't get me started on this coffee generation.

Millennials and even most Gen Xers all grew up with baby boomer parents, who "waited" to have kids until they were "financially stable". What does that mean? Kids in their early 30s. Which means, no starter homes, which means no shared rooms for kids, which means, no eating the same pot of spaghetti for 4 days straight because that was the budget this week. That means, no hand me downs, no "he'll grow into it" clothes, no homemade clothes, no bagged lunches, no "you'll just have to share with your siblings", no INCONVENIENCE of any kind.

It means no lawn mowing chores, because Juan does the lawn. No shoveling snow because A2Z snow removal service comes by with a plow. No raking leaves, because Juan blows them into the mower. No cleaning the house because Molly Maid comes every Thursday. No baking cakes because that new cupcake place has the best flavors!

It means no riding the bus to school, because Mommy drops you off and picks you up. It means no ride your bike and find your friends. Knocking on door, "Can Jimmy come out and play?" It's playdates, cell phone trackers, and Xbox Live. The only place where you are not being chaperoned/watched constantly is in the device screen.

Why am I mentioning this? Kids don't grow up that way due to their inherent being, they grow up this way because their parents choose to provide zero ability to the children to have an inconvenience, to learn to suffer just a bit, that instant gratification isn't a thing very often, and to learn from their own mistakes on their own. They have pushed kids away from the physical, which is 100% controlled and chaperoned into the digital space which is the only place they can be "free" of this control.

You want to change this? Clamp controls on the digital AND provide the freedom in the physical. Get them a football. Get them a bike. Tell them to go ride to friends houses. Go to the park. "Anywhere but here." Give them tasks they can complete, give them a purpose. Do things with them to build a bond. Not, "This machine is dangerous, go inside and stay away."

This isn't a "millennial" thing, this is a shitty boomer parent thing. These kids have never had an inconvenience, they have never had a want that wasn't immediately gratified. They have never had responsibility. They have never had physical freedom.
