I carry a gun. I also have a similar sized can of Mace pepper gel. I test squirted it and carried it in my pocket. After a while I noticed lint sticking around the nozzle. I blew it off. Some of the lint got on my face. A miniscule amount. My face was on fire! If you have to use it aim for the eyes. then nose and mouth. I was trained with CS gas in the military and the new stuff is potent.

When we go walking, especially with the wife's little dog, I carry a walking stick and the wife carries pepper spray. She has a carrier with an elastic strap around the back of her hand, and the sprayer is in the palm of her hand. In almost 20 years we've only used it once on an aggressive, off-leash dog. Almost used it on the irate owner, too.

I'm not the OP but not only guns are illegal in the UK, but so is pepper spray. We're not allowed to carry any sort of defense.

If he's going to have a rape whistle, the rapist will need his own whistle so then it's just two people blowing whistles while having sex to any passer-bys.
