Absolutely. Mycology has been a hobby for years and I've learned a bunch from the guy. It definitely helps with identification if I find one that I can't. Another good channel is Old man of the woods, if you're interested.

I am very interested thank you for the suggestion. Been mushroom hunting for about 7 years now just starting to get the hang of it. Never found a morel though!

Well, one suggestion is that you could join a mushroom hunting group and learn some good spots. I've only found about 30 so far this spring. One word of advice though, don't eat any morels that you find in an old apple orchard. The mushrooms concentrate the insecticide they used to spray on the trees. Good luck and be safe.

Thank you for that advice! It is really hard to get solid advice on these kinds of things. Where I am living there are no such clubs and other than my wife I do not know anyone else that picks mushrooms.. well that's not strictly true but not the kind you would like to make a dinner from at least. We have our annual hot spots which are great, we get an abundance of hedgehog mushrooms and chanterelles so we are lucky in that respect. It all started with us picking berries in late summer for jelly, eventually curiosity got the better of us. Though it took us two years to brave up and actually eat the chanterelles!

One of the best books I have found is "Mushroom's Demystified" by David Arora. It's my go to when I'm unsure of what kind of mushrooms I'm looking at. It has definitely helped me many times over the years and well worth the price. I've never done the club's either. I just learned identify the trees by their bark and went from there and it does help with narrowing down with what genus you've found. As far as spring though, Dryad Saddles are a nice consultation prize if you can't find Morels. They are a polypore shelf mushroom, easy to identify and the only one in the world that smells like a watermelon rind. Get them young and they are delicious. If they get too old, they become woody, so I use them for stock for soups if that's the case.
