In that cursor statement, you're using the old syntax for table joins "from table a, b, c where a.x = b.y...". Why not modern joins? Also a cursor is always slower, do you definitely need it?
You know what? I don’t mind it. I don’t use it a lot these days, but I remember learning it and liking how clean and clinical and logical it could be. Sure, it’s an old language now. Maybe there’s a new “Swift” to MySQL’s “C++” these days.
