Because of the square-cubed law (basically, surface area increases as 2nd power, volume as 3rd power), hail much larger than about a golfball in size would require supersonic upward flows to maintain their position in the raincloud, disregarding the density loss in air. This is a physical impossibility from basic fluid dynamics reasons, but, here we are.
Yup, seen similar in a late 80's mustang(in the mid 90's). I remember him saying it was actually kind of cool because people were always asking him about it, and he was right because i would have walked right past him and i wouldnt have commented here. Lemons and lemonaide type shit.
