I was in a chat room and typed "Jap" because I was too lazy to type Japanese. Holy moly did I get skewered; I mean how dare I use such an insulting term, right? The mod even threatened to ban me. Well for one the offensive term (from WW2) is actually "Nip" short for Nipponese. But more significant is that not a single person who was offended was actually Japanese. I know because I asked.

Taking offense on behalf of someone else has become a favorite pastime for these liberal idiots. The Japanese people do not need or want some soyfed SJWs white knighting for them, in fact if I was Japanese I would have been insulted if they did. It's like saying that Japs are too weak or inferior to be able to take care of themselves. Anyhow I stopped visiting the chatroom. Most chatrooms actually. Not to mention making comments on Reddit. If I want to have a conversation with idiots I talk to my dogs.
