When a human acts manly, testosterone is produced. Increased testosterone improves athletic performance. Hardcore female athletes all get a bit mannish, because selecting for power and speed filters out the least manly ones, and their behavior changes to imitate their successful sports peers, which compounds the effect.
Anyways, that why female soccer teams always have that dyke energy, and also why actual dykes are disproportionate among professional female footballers.
