Making men feel manly in masks is, unfortunately, a public-health challenge of our time

"The maddening aspect of #RealMenWearMasks isn’t the message but what’s behind it: We’ve reached the point of this polarized pandemic where our current plan for salvation is convincing certain recalcitrant men that wearing masks is the testosteroney thing to do.

Do you have an unmasked man in your life? You could, the article suggests, make sure he had some “tough” looking masks, perhaps with “camouflage” or “shark teeth.” Or, you could pull him in with a little “benevolent sexism,” i.e. encouraging him to think of mask-wearing as a “paternalistic” and “chivalrous” act — a way for the mask-wearer to think, “I’m being a hero.”"

But the messaging behind all of this is crap. It presents mask-wearing as something cool that men can individually do in order to be rugged heroes, deserving of accolades for their brave, manly choices."

It's not as hard as you might think.

However,it might lead to things you'd rather it didn't.

Masks don't work. I have not been able to find a white paper that conclusively says they do. At best, they suggest that they should work if people could use them correctly.

There have been numerous studies, including the recent Danish covid-19 masking study with unprecedented participation.

They all reach the exact same conclusion: "Mask wearing might help? Maybe? But not in any statistically significant way: the difference is within the margin of error."

I see that they're a mind control device to maintain fear. I don't believe they work, but for the sake of devil's advocacy... hand washing policies don't work either. They can demonstrate beyond any doubt that hands are cleaner and less infectious after being washed, but dictating the policy appears to have NO effect on infections. It's theoretically an issue of insufficient compliance, but they haven't demonstrated that.

So masks probably don't work, but mask policies certainly don't.

The latest CDC paper on it is very telling. It was very thorough. Half the team were researchers and half lawyers. So their conclusion (to paraphrase) was that it is possible masks reduce the spread of Covid by as much as 1.8%, on the very optimistic side.

This fact is basically being blacked out by the MSM. I don't consume MSM, but since nobody is talking about the study, I assume there is a media blackout on the actual results and implications.

Scientists would immediately recognize that number to be "noise". And indeed looking at the raw data, it is so classically noise that it is obviously noise, if you know how to read graphs. Most people don't. But it doesn't even need to be proved to be noise to be more than obvious that the benefit would never outweigh the costs. Not from a moral or utilitarian perspective.

I read that CDC report but didnot see the specific 1.8% reduction number. Was it numerically stated or was it inferred/calculable based on available information in the report. If you can point it out specifically I would really appreciate it.

Rugged and obedient, submissive and brave, chivalrous and sheepish.

Right now your imagination should be struggling to imagine this impossible creature. Can you feel your wordless operating system throwing errors?

There are just too few people that understand this. I think most people in America are so warped that they can't even see that most of their identity is bound up in cognitive dissonance.

Real men make their own decisions based on reason. We are just as emotional as anyone else, we just know emotions are a tool, just like reason. We contextualize them.

We don't need some faggot from the MSM to validate our masculinity. Validation is a tool we need when we are uncertain of outcomes and are seeking to find a solution that has worked in the passed or for other people. It is appropriate to use "validation" that way. It is not appropriate to use it as means to calm general insecurity or anxiety. Dipshit psychologists think it has something to do with acceptance. That is ass backwards. A clear example of cultural rot.
