So, what was he previously convicted for? The dailybeast article I pulled that quote from does not provide this info..

edit: This article doesn't talk about his prior conviction, but it does try to link him to the proud boys, which is a pretty big stretch. The proud boys would absolutely disavow this guy because dey don wike waycism:

They're going to do everything they can to make an example of him, and they're almost certainly going to use this as an excuse to disarm "right wing extremists", with or without priors or due process. Just wait. They want national red flag laws, and this is going to be part of how they get them.

They can put him in jail where he can learn real criminal skills, and make real criminal friends.

I know a guy who went in for a minor infraction, and came out two years later a major drug dealer, one of the regions larger criminals. He joined the local crime scene big time, and thrived. Set up a huge operation with hundreds of people involved. A real life Walter White type. Never served another day in jail in his life.

Major crime is just as well organized as any government, if not more so.
