Firstly, thank you for your assistance to date. You might recall my monitor would fade. Seems the monitor, not the box/tower, was the problem as I replaced it with an ancient but adequate monitor and no fading...but this f..king pop-up (see attached image) pops up and often stays popped up. Sorry to cuss.
The Internet tells me:
1. Go to Display and turn off auto brightness etc button. There is none. 2. On external Monitors i.e this one, the brightness button is located on the monitor. Can't find it on this one.
Oh... I think I got it wrong.. I was focus on the black image saying: full resolution 9mb. Bur you have the brightness pop-up into he background. Now.. It makes sense.. Forget everything I said. Or even others.. Not sure anyone got it.. But I truly believe your problem is physical. One of the buttons is stuck.. If that is the case, you are screwed. You can try to clean it.. For example.. Disconnect from the PC and outlet (monitor).. If you have those aircans that use co2 to push air very fast to clean electronics.. You can try to clean the monitor buttons.. You can also push quite hard each button to try to find out which.. You can also open and try to clean internally with isopropyl alcohol. But all these options are more expensive than buying another cheap monitor.. Sometimes you can get for free in Facebook marketplace. Sorry for wasting your time. Wish you best luck.
