Marriage is a major investment, greater than your home or other assets. I'm a big believer in it, but it's a huge commitment and you have to make your property "attractive" on both sides. I'm also a huge believer in pre-nups, just to outline clear boundaries, as in "you cross this line and I will divorce you," not just disposition of assets.
It's not just about love. It's a lifelong economic, emotional and spiritual partnership. Many women and some men make the mistake of thinking it is 100% about emotional love and everything else (like being two different religions or on opposite ends of the spending spectrum) will work itself out if "love" is there.
Life is extremely hard. Picking one brother or sister combatant to be by your side for the whole thing should be treated with the dignity it deserves. "Modern" women are wrong to treat it with laissez Faire attitude, focusing on the Disney like romance, ring and dress only. Modern men are wrong for going along with this fantasy or not digging deep enough for the good woman to ride shotgun with, rather falling into promiscuity and other hollow comforts.
The fag shit was also another way to treat marriage with little seriousness. But I do believe it's possible we are entering a new conservative age and good strong marriages will rise again.
