I mostly agree. We are moving to an upscale neighborhood with a HOA next year. The very first thing I'm going to do on moving in is find out who all of the HOA employees are. I will find out where they live, if they have kids, their personal phone numbers and email addresses, their email addresses, and any social media accounts they have. Just in case.
In addition to that, I will attend every single HOA meeting and make very sure every HOA employee know me as friendly. And if I don't like any of them, I will begin working to remove them.
If the HOA does its job, and the fees are reasonable, then fine. But if they step out of bounds, it'll be go time.
