Suicide is sometimes the greater option

submitted by Storefront to whatever 6 daysApr 26, 2025 22:04:08 ago (+7/-6)     (whatever)

In my career, I did time in Guatemala, Lebanon, the west bank, Moroccan ghettos. The world is shit and sometimes I understand suicide completely. I am a Christian but I also understand the futility of life on earth. And it's OK to think about it, at least I think, because sometimes it feels like the greater option, the better option, even the more pure option, more pure than trying to survive in this jungle hellscape we call life on earth. I pray for the strength to carry on often, but also recognize the strength in death.

Agreed. Them that wheeze about suicide being for cowards are the exact same fools that die while begging and crying for JAYSUS to "let me live!"....just one more minute, hour, day, etc. One would think true believers would be anxious to sit on clouds, strum harps, and wait for a turn to lick the toejammy from HIS feet! One would invariably be wrong.

Long ago I worked at a 'retirement home' (actually a old folks warehouse their greedy adult kids stuck them in!), and saw many a fool not die with a beatific smile on their face. Each one went out with the standard look of horror....the xtians should of by now patented! Ten years ago I was condemned to spend two days and three nights at an ICU for pneumonia. My roomie was another of these cowardly xtians, who spent every waking minute crying for LARDY to let him live. Nothing has changed. Still scared shitless of dying. The truest mark of cowardice is to endure a slow 'natural' death of agony, because some god or shitty religion demands it....or because one is too damn spineless to circumvent it. Real courage is flipping the bird to outside forces, choosing your own departure time and method, staring death in the face, then making the leap without hesitation or regret. That is true bravery the sheeple will never know, nor even slightly understand.
