It is a social construct. But so are like, words. The problem with the argument that it is a social construct isn't that it isn't one (because it is). It's that it's an implied dismissal against the reality of racial differences (biological difference that tend to correlate fairly well with the social constructs we've developed).
But race is a social construct. Just like class is. If we found biological differences between classes we wouldn't be arguing that class isn't a social construct, because it definitely is.
But that gives me an idea for some fun. Start arguing with left-oids that class differences don't really exist because it is a social construct.
