Jesus is the Rock: Wednesday Bible Study

Bible Study Wednesday:

The goal of this particular series of Bible studies is to show from the Word of God how Jesus is the rock.

Deuteronomy 32: The Song of Moses

1. Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass;
3. Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

As we can see directly from the 4th verse that God IS the rock.

John wrote in John 1:
1. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
34. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

So we can see clearly from the Gospel of John, that Jesus is the Word, He is God, he is the Lamb of God, he is the Son of God, and he takes away the sin of the world.

Just as it was written by Peter in his second epistle

20. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

So we can see the Bible is clearly self-consistent and describes God as our Rock. Jesus, who is The Word come in the flesh, IS the rock of our salvation.

God bless.

You think that is an acceptable thing to say in response to a Gospel message?
You should be ashamed of yourself.
