Thanks @TheBigGuyFromQueens for recommending it. The almond vanilla scent is a good mix and it's not too sweet (or expensive).
I also got a tester of Versace Eros that was not recommended by him, but is highly rated and it's a no go. About 30 minutes in it smells like a mixture of industrial Cleaner (possibly is), plastic, sanitizer, and baby powder. This combines to smell like a clean baby diaper on a recently cleaned hospital floor.
Ahh. Yes. Givenchy Pi is great. Good for 3 seasons, IMO.
I also have Versace Eros and it is indeed very strong and the initial spray on is harsh, as you said. When it settles, it is much better, though. I wear it, but infrequently.
I think for most people who want to go sweet, loud and clubby like Eros, They're going to either choose something from the Paco Rabanne 1 Million line or they're going to get something from Gaultier. Gaultier is probably a little sweeter than Eros, but it is not harsh at all in terms of a chemical smell. After like 2 minutes it's pretty consistent thereafter. If you want sweet honey/tobacco, get Le Male Elixir, if you want sweet Vanilla/Iris with a little powder/smoke, go Le Male Parfum. For summertime aquatic with coconut, you can do Le Beau.
